Flutter By's

Hi Stampers!

Did you know that Butterflies were called Flutter By's years ago.  This is a great time of the year to start seeing these delicate creatures.  I just love to watch them, they are so amazing.  Today's "Design of the Day" displays some of the beautiful colors we see in these gorgeous animals.  The colors I used for this card are from the new "In Color" group for 2010 - 2011.

As promised, I continued the theme of gems.  On this card I used a rhinestone on each butterfly and tiny pearls in the center of each flower.

TIP:  If you want to make these butterflies look as though they just landed on your card, stamp them first then use the Stampin' Up! Butterfly Extra Large Punch to cut them out.  Before you glue them down use your fingers to roll the wings up, making them look as though they are flying.

Stampin' Up items used on this card include:
  • Peach Parfait, Poppy Parade, Pear Pizzazz, Concord Crush, Blushing Bride and Whisper White Smooth Card Stock and Inks
  • Basic Rhinestone and Pearl Gems
  • Butterfly Extra Large Punch
  • "Flight of the Butterfly" and "Teeny Tiny Wishes" stamp sets

Happy Birthday!

Good Afternoon Everyone,

Sorry I did not post a card yesterday, it was a crazy day and I just ran out of time.  I am sure most of you know what that is like. ;(

Today's "Design of the Day" is a birthday card.  It seems that I am always needing birthday cards, how about you? As promised I have included jewels.  This card is simple and is a cute example of what can be done with the "A' La Carte" stamps in the Idea Book.

I used only one ink, the Concord Crush.  The sides of the paper are sponged so that the items that have been stamped pop out a little more on the card.  The pearls on the cake add to the frosted look.  I think this is a great card to keep on hand because it can be used for most anyone.

Have Fun!

Stampin' Up! Items used on this card include:
  • Concord Crush, Pear Pizzazz, River Rock, and Peach Parfait Smooth Card Stock
  • Basic Pearl Jewels
  • Concord Crush Ink
  • 1/2" Peach Parfait Stitched-Poly Ribbon
  • "Sweet Birthday" and "Bring on the Cake" Stamp Sets

This is a great little "a' la Carte" stamp!

This Great Birthday Set with 13 Stamps is in the Occasions Mini Catalog,
This catalog is only good through April 30, 2011, so don't miss it.

Have a great Stampin' Day!

Remember this is the last month to order from the Occasions Mini Catalog.  There are so many great items in the Mini, I will really hate to see it go.  Order 24/7 by clicking this link.

Spring is Blooming

Happy Monday to all you crafters!

Flowers are blooming all over the place and I hope you are lucky enough to have a vase full on your table.  This card has just the right pep for a person needing a little cheering up when they feel bad.  I promised jewels this week and yesterday I had Rhinestones but today it is Pearls.  I added pearls to the popped up flowers on the right side of the card and then again down the left side as trim.

TIP:  If you have large hands like me and have a tough time picking up these little pearls to place on cards, try using the tip of very sharp little scissor like Stampin' Up's! Paper Snips or a paper piercing tool.  I just slide the little tip under the pearl or rhinestone and place it where I like on my scrapbook page or card.  It works great and you don't have to worry anymore about sticking them to the end of your finger.

Stampin' Up! items used to create this card:
  • Peach Parfait, Concord Crush, Daffodil Delight and Whisper White Smooth Card Stock
  • Basic Pearl Jewels
  • Watercolor Pencils
  • Blender Pen
  • Basic Black Ink
  • Pinking Heart Border
  • 5/8" Whisper White Satin Ribbon
  • Dimensionals
  • "Fun and Fast Notes" Stamp Set

Today's Stamp comes from the "Fun and Fast Notes" Stamp Set.
This is probably my very favorite set to suggest a beginner get.

Thanks, Gracias, Danke, Merci!

WOW, what a day, I almost forgot to make my post, so let me say THANKS for waiting.  This "Design of the Day" is a quick and easy Thank You Card using one of the a' la carte stamps on page 18 of the Idea Book.  Check it out.

I used my Stampin' Up! Markers to color each thank you on the stamp a different shade of green or orange.  This is the way to use the stamps and make each detail stand out.  When using the technique remember to breath a huff on the stamp before laying it on the paper to re moisten the inks.  This works on any stamp that may have ink that has been on long enough to dry.

Stampin' Up! Items used to make this card include:
  • Peach Parfait, Pear Pizzazz, and Whisper White Smooth Card Stock
  • Multiple shades of Green and Orange Stampin' Up! Markers
  • Basic Rhinestone Jewels
  • Scalloped Border Punch
  • 1/2" Stitched Poly Ribbon in Peach Parfait
  • "So Many Thanks" Stamp
Have a great evening!
