Stinkin' Sweet

Happy Saturday to Everyone,

I love this "Design of the Day" and had so much fun making it!

There are several new techniques I used to make this card.  First, I used a roller stamp to get the pretty little flowers up the left side of the card, this was so easy, I can't believe I waited so long to use this innovative tool.  Also adding the little pearls to the flowers really made them POP!  Second, When cutting out the strip for the sentiment I used the corner of my square punch to get the little points, this was so much easier than trying to cut it out with scissors.  Give both these new techniques a try, I think you will be shocked how fast they create great design features.

I used pearls yesterday and today, so I must be feeling a little bejeweled!  I am going to continue this theme until this coming Friday, and see how many new ideas I can come up with.  Stay Tuned!!!!

This Stampin' Up! set is really good to start with,
it has a wide selection of uses. Being one of the sets that can be
colored in after being stamped, makes it even more versatile.

Stampin' Up! items used in this card include:
  • So Saffron, Daffodil Delight, Basic Black and Whisper White Smooth Card Stock
  • Basic Pearl Jewels
  • Water Color Pencils
  • Blender Pen
  • Corner Punch
  • 1/2" Very Vanilla Seam Binding Ribbon ( This is a wonderful lite weight, easy to work with ribbon found in the Ocassions Mini Catalog and is only available to order from through April 30, 2011)
  • Fast Flowers Standard Wheel Stamp
  • "Pun Fun" Stamp Set
Have a nice Saturday, see you tomorrow!

Friend to Friend

Hi Friend,

This is a two-fer day.  Using the cute "A Flower for All Seasons" stamp set I created both a full size card and a little note card.  These multi-purpose cards are great during the Spring Time and a simple and fun "Design of the Day".

I will share a little secret with you.  Today, I planned on having all three of these flowers on one card but when I started laying everything out for the glue down I realized it looked better with just two flowers.  I don't know if this ever happens to you but it happens to me pretty often.  I guess I am one those people that over does things, just in case.  If you are also one of these people, make lemons into lemonade and use the extra item on a small note card.  Then you end up with a BONUS card!!!!

Stampin' Up! items used to make these cards:
  • Concord Crush, Pear Pizzazz, Poppy Parade and Whisper White.  (Three of these are from the NEW In Color Collection!
  • Black Ink Pad
  • Watercolor Pencils
  • Blender Pen
  • Dimensionals
  • Whisper White 5/8" Satin Ribbon
  • "Teeny Tiny Wishes" and "A Flower for All Seasons" Stamp Set

Have a great design day!!!

Hello Baby

Today's "Design of the Day" is a card you may not need very often, but when you do, you want the cutest card ever.  This design was created for one of my cousins that is having his first child.

The watercolor look of the card is created by using the Watercolor pencils and the blender pen.  The baby kangaroo in the mama's pouch  was stamped on a second piece of paper then cut out and placed on a dimensional so that it looks as though he is peeping out to say hello.  This cute card was designed to welcome the new baby to our family with a happy heart and the excitement of new life, I think it does just that!!!

Take a bounce to page 72 of the "Idea Book" and check out all the options available with this Kangaroo Stamp Set.

Every Bit Little Boy

Puppies and bubble gum go so well with little boys, so this is the inspiration for my next card.

I shared with you a few days ago, I have many family birthdays coming up and today's "design of the day" is for one of those special people.  In this card I used my watercolor pencils to bring to life all the wonderful bright colors we think about when seeing a little boy play with his puppy or kneeling in front of that exciting gum ball machine waiting to see what fabulous color will pop out of that little door.

Remember the inside of the card when designing, it is just another area you can use your creativity.

  • Pacific Point, Real Red, Daffodil Delight, and Whisper White Smooth Card Stock
  • Staz on Black Ink
  • Blender Pen
  • Watercolor Pencils
  • Dimensionals
  • 1-3/8" Circle and 1-1/4" Circle Punch
  • "Bring on the Cake" (From the Occasions Mini Catalog) and "Every Little Bit" Stamp Sets
